Candidates possessing the required qualification can register online till 15-September-2023. A minimum of 50% marks are required to pass the entrance test. Two years of residential training will be conducted at PMA. Upon completion of training award of Associate Degree in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering by NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi.

Qualification Required

1. FSc Pre-Engineering or O/A level with the subject combination (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) having at least 55% marks.

2. Candidates of O/A level must submit an equivalence certificate.

3. FSc / A-level part-II appearing candidates with at least 60% marks in Part II can also apply. However, they have to provide a hope certificate from the head of the respective college/institute.

4. If a candidate fails to attain 55% marks in FSc after providing a hope certificate, he will be disqualified at any stage of the selection process or discharged during training.

• 21 years as on 31-December-2023 for FATA / Gilgit Baltistan / AJK / Balochistan

How to Register Online to Join Merchant Navy 2023

The prospectus and application form can be downloaded from the Pakistan Marine Academy PMA website. The link is below.

Submit the application form through courier service along with a pay order/bank draft of Rs 3000 in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy Karachi, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code – 0239 (PO/DD from any bank is accepted).

Candidates applying under Self Finance Scheme (SFS) are to submit an additional pay order/bank draft of Rs 300,000 along with the application form.

The SFS fee will be refunded in case the candidate is selected on open merit or does not meet PMA eligibility criteria.

Selection Procedure

• Entrance tests will be conducted at Abbottabad, Gwadar, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Peshawar
• Medical Examination
• Final selection will be done in order of merit
• Final interview and PET dates

PET standards

• Running: One mile (1.6 km) in eight-minute
• Push-ups: 15 Repetitions in two minutes
• Sit-ups: 15 Repetitions in two minutes
• Chin-ups: 2 Repetitions in two minutes

Degree Certification

Certificates of International Maritime Organization (IMO) recognized Pre-Mandatory cases.

Scholarships

37 fully paid scholarships are offered to cadets: 33 need-based scholarships are sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and 4 need-based Scholarships are given by Global Radiance Group of Companies.
